日曜日の宿泊先『ドーミーイン』さんのフロントで手渡された宿泊者限定特価プランなる優待の案内書。そこに書かれていたのは「大間のマグロ1,680yen➡1,000yen大特価」または「青森地酒(田酒・豊盃・八仙等)グラス1杯プレゼント」というもの。ホテルから徒歩30秒余りで日曜日も営業されているとのこととランチは『池田ファーム』さんで美味しい田子牛をいただいたので夜は魚貝類が良いなと思っていたところに手渡された優待の案内書。これは渡りに船であり物は試しとばかりに初めて寄せていただいた『八戸酒場ぎんが』さん。八戸の中心街で日曜日に営業されている店が殆んど無い状況下で日曜営業はとても有難い。寄せていただいた段階ではカウンター席は満席でしたが店奥のテーブル席へ幸いにも案内していただき早速、赤星のラガーを頼み渇いた喉を潤しました。デフォルトで供されるつきだしには豆富に八戸名物の大根、人参、牛蒡にもろみと唐辛子を加え作られた『なんばんみそ』が載せられた小鉢と青森産の『海峡サーモン』と若芽(ワカメ)の酢味噌和えの二つの小鉢。早速、スタッフの方にホテルの優待の案内書を手渡し『大間のマグロ』をオーダー。程無くして供されたソレは赤身が三切れと腹身の部分が二切れの盛合せ。見た目には筋目が強めでイマイチに見えたもののやはり『大間のマグロ』の言葉の響きは大きい。味は見た目よりも良いものでこれで1,000yenならば1切れ200yenと考えればそこそこお得感があると思います。これで気を良くしてしまい追加で『大将お任せ刺身の盛合せ』をオーダー。1人前1,000yen~の時価で『生海胆(ナマウニ)』入りは+500yenとのことでそれをいただくことに。供された内容は木製のスプーンに載せられた八戸産という『生海胆(ナマウニ)』に『鯨(クジラ)』、行者にんにくの醤油漬とともに味わう『鰹(カツオ)』、自家製『〆鯖(シメサバ)』、『鮃(ヒラメ)』、『海峡(カイキョウ)サーモン』、『曹以(ソイ)』に『桜鯛(サクラダイ)
』という内容で値段は1,500yen、少数精鋭盛で『鰹(カツオ)』、『〆鯖(シメサバ)』、『生海胆(ナマウニ)』、『鯨(クジラ)』が白眉。此処で止めとけば良いものの小腹を満たすために『トロタク巻』をオーダー。しかし残念ながらこれが今までの良い印象を覆してしまうような植物油脂入りの業務用のネギトロと呼ばれるものが使われて残念。流石に「大間のマグロ」とは行かないでしょうが端材や鋤き身(スキミ)の中落ちでも使ったものが供されたらどれだけ嬉しかったことでしょう?
