Born in Gifu Prefecture in 1975, he began his career as a chef at the age of 18. After training at the soba restaurant "Kichihoshi" in Tokyo, he turned to become an Italian Cuisine chef. He further honed his skills at the popular restaurant "Canoviano" in Daikanyama, and was also a founding member of "Canoviano Kyoto". He further honed his skills at "Ristorante tvb" in Gion, Kyoto, and opened "Yamaguchi" as the owner chef in 2011. His original dishes, which are a perfect fusion of Japanese-style meal and Italian Cuisine cuisine, have captivated many gourmets.
